Hello – I hope you can give some advice…I’m the mother of two small kids ages 4 and 7, and my 16 year old dog has some serious health issues and is suffering. We’ve chosen to have her put down.

This dog has been a part of their lives since they were born and we all love her and will miss her. I’ve scheduled a house-call vet to come out to our house for this to minimize the stress and let her pass in her own home, but I’m torn on whether to have our kids present for this.

HELP! My cat is prone to urinary tract infections and our vet put her on a canned food for this. She’s extremely stubborn and refuses to eat the canned food she needs for her urinary tract health.

I have a 12 year old Collie with very dry skin and oily fur. She’s always scratching and biting her lower back. Besides wearing away her fur and driving me crazy, I’m getting concerned.

My friend suggests adding fish oil to her diet to help.

Does this sound like a good solution? I’ve tried so many other solutions and nothing is working.

A fishy story

A man who lives at Lake Conroe, (50 miles north of Houston) saw a ball bouncing around kind of strange in the lake and went to investigate.

It turned out to be a flathead catfish that had apparently tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!!
